Did anyone find the DC encouraging?

in hindsight, i may have just felt that way because that's how you were supposed to feel.
i was a 100% brainwashed fool for many years, if the gb said it, i did, i felt it and i believed it .

A few observations from the DC
by pillsbury ini have been reading over everyones posts from the dc and it made me remember a few things:.
the drama: they definately were discouraging going to collage.
timothy had a friend named jonathon that pursued "worldly goals"- getting an education, getting a good job and getting married and having kids.

elsewhere - I never thought about that when I was in, but it's true. They have no problem contradicting themselves over and over and over. Crooked, lying ass, evil bastards ! This college thing really has my panties in bunch. People have to be ready to leave this crooked, flip-flopping sorry ass excuse for a religion.

Then the Society did one of their rationalisation programmes, that and a cocky jumped up CO killed all the fun.
That's just it mutz - The GB prides itself on sucking the joy out of everything. If the 'friends' get any enjoyment out of something the GB will find something wrong with it and apply the same few catch-all scriptures; make sure of the more important things ... bad association ... be no part of the world.
They SUCK!!!

Get that Drama about "No College" into the hands of a child custody judge

just finished reading the posts on this years drama, about timothy "pioneering" and how youths should not go to college.. it is crucial, if you are helping any parent win custody of their children from their jw parent, that you get a copy of the drama on dvd (someone stated it would be released at the end of the summer) and get it into the hands of a family court judge.. the wt already has a booklet about how jw parents and children should respond in family court, over custody cases.
they use twisted reasoning and scripted answers.. this dvd will expose their lies and evil maliciouness..

Yet another reversal. How long will the
sheepsleep continue to fall for this malarky? They will do and say anthing to keep the R&F from having a life. I really do pity those who sincerely believe that is the truth. But there have to be some thinking people in those audiences who are fed up with that BS.Great idea ts! How foolish of them to put that on DVD and risk exposing their stupidity and duplicity to the world. Go ahead, use it against them. It is a gift from god .

Did anyone who attended the convention even HEAR anything encouraging at all? Or was it just the usual GB mental beat down with don't do this, don't do that ... I read on another thread that they're speaking against college education again. That's funny as hell! "Little Johnny went to college and now he's not so strong in da troof". Yeah, cause little Johnny knows how to do research, use the internet and think critically so now he's on to your bulls***t and only goes to meetings so he won't lose his friends and family. Hell no he doesn't want to be a 'servant' he's just faking it until he can figure out how to convince mom and dad it's all a lie.
Why can't the conventions actually be upbuilding? Like a good church revival with singing and praise and teaching values from the 'good book'. How about a sermon on making your family life happy that emphasises spending more quality time with your children. Do fun things like play boardgames, go out to the park more often, play catch, fly a kite ... that type of stuff makes me feel warm and fuzzy .
Come to think of it, I really didn't feel upbuilt after a convention or assembly. I felt like I had to 'do more', do more, do more ... just thinking about it gives me the cringes

Hoochie mama's are trying to look sexy but you don't have to show all that skin to do it.
I trashed my JW "little house on the prairie" wardrobe and went back to wearing clothes that fit and flatter my figure. I'm 30+ too but I'm still a head-turner (lol).
Don't worry about competing with those hoochies, just dress a little sexier, it's as simple as wearing a tank top and shorts - and they don't have to be booty shorts to be sexy. Go to Fashion Cents and try on some new trendy clothing that you feel comforatable wearing. Then wear it like you know your the S**t. And as men fall out dead in your wake you will feel like a goddess! I know, I do it almost every day .

How do I control my jealousy?!! Help!
by Crumpet inthe first time i can vividly recall feeling jealous was when i was 7.. my dad came home from visiting a client with gifts for me and my sisters.
my younger sisters got a beaufiful handmade doll dressed in pink lace called betty and a handmade cotton cot.
i got the 1982 yearbook of jws.
